Over the past couple of months, I've been busy, busy, busy creating my current range for the Marika King Designer Jewellery line, which is titled, "Mixed Bag of Goodies". Because it's just that, a mixed bag of goodies. There is no one single underlying theme to it, just a bit of this and a bit of that. It ranges from deer heads, to lovehearts, skulls to flowers, and throw in a bit of Parisian love. But of course, things never go off without a hitch. Just as I was ready to launch the range, my pc was out of action......then when I got it back, it was worse then it was before I took it to the technician! So, this range was thrown wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy off schedule :(
But never fear, it is here! Here are a few of my favourites:

Cool Find.... (or in this case "Weird Find"!)
I love stumbling across really cool things, especially for the home as I really want to totally redecorate our tired looking pad. I love the quirky and unusual, I don't want our home to look like every other house or even the cookie cutter display homes. I want it to be a place with character, yet uncluttered.
One blog I love reading is Feber / Hem. I have no idea what this means or anything they write as it's in Swedish I presume. But there are always cool finds to be had on this blog.
Anyway...............
The other day, it was more of a case of "weird finds".....
Like seriously, I understand the need to be able to put a water bottle holder on a bike, but a wine holder? Fancy having a swig while going on a bike ride? (if you happen to be one of those people, and I promise I won't judge you as I can be found doing weird stuff myself at times, it's available on etsy)
And I'd totally be petrified to sit on this chair. Well, that was until curiousity got the better of me and I found the site it originally came from and figured out how it worked. OK, weird to look at but it can work (info available from here if you are just as curious)

But this one kinda baffles me...... If I were a man, and believe me I'm not, which is probably why I don't get it, I don't think I'd want to know where the last man pee'd. I know men are a different breed, like no matter how old they are, they think farts are funny. But this kinda grosses me out. Usually the smell of a urinal is bad enough, but pee marks? OK, top marks for inventiveness.

A Lovely Name Change!
Phew! Where has the time gone? Once again, so busy, my poor little blog got a bit neglected :( So many things have happened!
Firstly, with my main jewellery line, Marika King Designer Jewellery, I decided this year to try and release ranges monthly. While I have all the ideas, the time to design, source suppiles, create, photograph, update websites and contact boutiques in such a short span of time was abit tricky. Whilst I'll still be releasing a new range this month, I think I'll opt for every second month as I find it abit hard to fit everything in. The new range is coming along nicely, some pretty stylish earrings, love heart inspiration, deer and fox mounted necklaces, vintage alcohol necklaces as well as some french influence! So it's a bit of a mixed bag. I can't wait until the next range already, I've got some awesome ideas which I hope work out as good as I imagine.
The comes my other line, the one formerly known as Lovely Little Shop Of. Well, there was a bit of an issue with the name, and it really wasn't worth fighting for it, so we had a little competition and the new name of the shop is Lovely Sparrow & Co, which I personally prefer. It's really taken off, I think the whimsical and vintage style of the range resonates with so many people, it's abit different to what is out there but still affordable. It's available online at http://www.lovelysparrowandco.etsy.com/ as well as the occasional designer market. I'll be at one next weekend, so watch out for the details shortly!
And meanwhile, I've gone back into fashion oblivion! Being so flat out organising all the ranges and basically having zero time for myself, between that and the family, the weight has piled on (no way the jeans are fitting or anywhere near it), no time to play around with my wardrobe and barely any time to even hunt around to be inspired. I went shopping yesterday and all that was out there was .................. boring! Anyway have any great style ideas for winter, drop me a line, I need to get out of this funk. This latest range I'm working on should be out in the next week or two, then I'm taking some time out for me, to try and shed some extra kgs, play with my wardrobe and rediscover my style.
And I'm also commiting to keeping up my blog more regularly, I think it'll help me keep inspired on all levels :)
