Piece of the week

I thought I'd highlight a piece each week, most of the time it'll be something new, but for now, since I've just wrapped up a range and about to start a new range, I thought I'd highlight some of my favourite pieces.





This week, it's the "I heard it through the grapevine earrings". These earrings are brass and are handcut into a beautiful organic vine shape. They are so easy to wear, I have a pair myself and they dress up a casual outfit so well. And they are a great alternative to hoops.

Cool Find....

It always seems when I go browsing around shops in the real world, there isn't alot that really catches my eye that I just have to have. But online, I could shop till I dropped!! So I thought I'd start sharing some of my cool finds.

One of my favourite things I've found recently that I can't stop thinking about are these gorgeous origami tea bags by Natalia Ponomareva. These cute birdie creations are so gorgeous! I think if I bought them (don't think they are available for sale yet), I'd be too scared to use them, they're so pretty!

Designer Spotlight: Eryn Brinie

Don't you just love it when you accidently stumble across something and you fall madly in love? Well, that's what happened to me the other day. I was reading one of my favourite blogs and a picture was posted of this fur vest that I HAD TO HAVE!! Now, I've never owned a fur vest, and I've never particularly been a vest person at all. So anyway, did some more research and found that the designer is Eryn Brinie, so I googled her and found her website and fell in love with her designs.

Her designs are described as European chic combined with New Yorks spirit and modern sensibility. I just think her designs are fresh, affordable and so easy to wear. I'll definitely be checking in regularly to see what else she has. In the meantime, I'll be waiting for the mailman to deliver my new vest.

Need a giggle??

OK, some days, stress levels are high and I need some time out and what's better then having a good ole' laugh? Well, I came across this guy on twitter and boy, is his tweets hilarious!!

The twitterer is Justin of "shit my dad says". And it's just that, shit his dad says. But boy, his dad needs his own sitcom! Justin is a 29 year old guy who lives with his 73 year old dad.

If you'ld like a taste of his tweets, here are some recent ones:

"Remember how you used to make fun of me for being bald?.....No, I'm not gonna make a joke. I'll let your mirror do that"

"I wanted to see Detroit win. I've been there. It looks like God took a shit on a parking lot. They deserve some good news."

My designs have been featured in a blog!!

Yay, a piece of my jewellery has been featured in a blog!!! The lovely Tiffany from http://www.iamstyle-ish.com/ is wearing a piece from a previous range and I love the way she's styled it! I usually have an idea of what I'd wear a piece with when I create it, as I like to create my designs with fashion in mind. So I like to see how others interpret the piece. I visualised this piece being worn on grey, so I loved how Tiffany wore it with the dark coral tee and tied it back with the black blazer. And I also initially designed the piece so that one side would have 2 of the black phoenix feathers and the other side would only have one, but in this case, all three of them are on the same side. Love it! And what a stylish outfit for a "lazy sunday"!

Phew!!! What a busy couple of months it's been. I've just finished my new range aimed mainly at Spring / Summer 09-10 (southern hemisphere!), got my website updated and it's all ready to go!!

So in a few days, I shall be back.
